Dell’s rapidly-expanding worldwide sales required several weeks of research and insight into the burgeoning markets of Brazil, Russia, India, China, and Turkey. The resulting design needed to incorporate multiple finishes, a “floating” front face, and single-piece construction, while retaining the option for added graphics and colorways. Dell’s worldwide brand ambassador came through in record time.

We created a new design language for Dell’s powerful LCD 2007 roll-out. From a 30” high-end performance display to15” consumer value display, Dell’s signature attributes are carried throughout this line.

We worked with Dell to develop a next-gen consumer printer language for 2008. This language needed to retain certain elements from the previous design language as well as continue to evolve the aesthetics in a way that would be fresh and approachable for consumers.

Dell XPS 700

There was no compromising when it came to the design of the XPS 700 gaming rig for Dell. We brought the brand to life through strong, architectural features and clean lines. The airflow-inspired design led to this segmented jet-pod form with the aluminum casing at an aggressive, yet elegant forward lean.

Dell Studio XPS 435

d:e worked with Dell to design their latest flagship desktop. The Studio XPS 435 is the first to be released in a new line of home computers, all ‘in family’ with this new slick aesthetic. The 435’s features, stats and sweet looks are making headlines across a range of publications from Wired Magazine to the gadget blogs.

Dell Inspiron Duo and Sound Station

d:e helped Dell create the new Inspiron Duo, a convertible touchscreen netbook with a difference. Instead of the entire screen swiveling 180 degrees from the bottom middle, as with many convertibles, this machine’s screen swivels on a horizontal axis allowing the over all form to be aligned and controlled in both tablet and laptop mode. d:e also designed the Sound Station audio and multimedia dock in partnership with JVC and Dell.

Dell asked d:e to help design and develop an all-in-one touchscreen PC to fit into the Inspiron line-up. The Inspiron One 2305 features a sleek approachable design aesthetic, full built in wireless capabilities and a capacitive display for one-touch access to music, photos and videos, and a tidy cord management solution: only a single power cord needs to be attached to get up and running.
